Sweet Corn

Sweet Corn 5x7 oil
I greatly enjoyed the trip to the farmer's market. There was so much there that I wanted to paint!

Saturday Livestock Series #1

Cow 5x7 oil
Since taking the challenge of creating a painting every day of the week, I would like to include a series of Saturday livestock. Each Saturday I will have a painting up for auction on Ebay which will showcase an animal of some sort: chickens, pigs, sheep, cows, goats etc. I will donate 100% of the auction earnings from the livestock paintings to World Vision to use for purchasing livestock for people living in poverty. If you can afford to buy original artwork, why not buy artwork that will make a difference in others' lives? I cannot give much, but I can give my time through creating these paintings. Please consider donating to World Vision, either through the auction, or through their website: www.worldvision.org

And So it Begins...

Contemplation  5x7 oil
This is my first painting a day installment. I saw this man sitting on a park bench lost in his thoughts and immediately thought it would make a great painting.

November 20, 2009: I have decided to become a "daily painter" for several reasons. First and foremost, I would like to become a better painter. I cannot think of a better way to do this than painting! It is so easy to get "busy" while accomplishing very little. I want the time I spend to count. Not only will I improve as an artist by painting a piece every day, but I can generate a larger body of work while getting my work and name out there. Thus begins a journey to enjoy the process of improving my skills as an artist.

Paintings will be posted on Ebay each day.
